At 16 years old, Rodríguez inscribed with the Seattle Mariners as a multinational free agent. He started his professional career in 2018 with the Rookie-level Dominican Summer League Mariners, competing as right field and batting .315/.404/.525. Despite being extremely younger than other participants, he performed well and was identified as a mid-season All-Star.

In 2019, Rodríguez competed for the West Virginia Power and Modesto Nuts in the nominal leagues.
