Harlan Coben, a 1984 graduate, worked at his grandfather's travel company before writing his first book. He published Play Dead at age 26 in 1990 and followed it with Miracle Cure in 1991. Coben then started a series of thrillers featuring Myron Bolitar, a former basketball player turned sports agent who investigates client-related murders. His stand-alone thriller Tell No One was adapted into a French film in 2006. He has since authored 9 more stand-alone novels, with Hold Tight debuting at number one on the New York Times Best Seller list.
In 2003, Coben authored a short novel about his late dad, and it was broadcasted in The New York Times. He has also written essays for Parade Magazine and Bloomberg Views. Coben has received awards for his Myron Bolitar series, including the Anthony Award in 1996 for "Best Paperback Original" and the Shamus Award and Edgar Award in 1997 for Fade Away.
