Ahmed Johnson started his professional career in wrestling in 1989, and he started training under Skandor Akbar, Scott Casey, and Ivan Putski. After gaining experience, he made his debut on the independent circuit in 1989. He has started playing wrestling in the Global Wrestling Federation. He has also worked for NWA Dallas with John Hawk for the NWA North American Heavyweight Championship.
He started wrestling for the World Wrestling Federation. He played at the Intercontinental Champion, where he defeated Goldust to win the Intercontinental Championship. He signed one of his major contracts with World Championship Wrestling and made his debut at Souled Out as a heel. He made his name in the wrestling industry.
