In ODIs, Tendulkar amassed an impressive 18,426 runs, a record that endured until Virat Kohli’s surpassing. His diverse shot repertoire and cricketing acumen made him an icon. He played a pivotal role in India’s 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup win.

At just 16, Tendulkar debuted in ODIs on December 18, 1989, playing against Pakistan in Karachi. Despite scoring 15 runs, it marked the inception of an extraordinary ODI journey, leading to over 18,000 runs and the title of the highest run-scorer. He played a pivotal role in India’s 2011 World Cup triumph.

In the Test arena, Tendulkar debuted in Karachi against Pakistan on November 15, 1989, a few weeks before his ODI debut. His youthful resilience yielded 15 not out and 59 in both innings. He later became the leading Test run-scorer, with over 15,000 runs and a historic hundred international centuries.

Tendulkar’s T20 international career was comparatively brief. He entered the T20 stage against South Africa on December 1, 2006, but his T20 impact was dwarfed by his performances in other formats. He retired from T20 internationals in 2013.
