Luis Fernando Diaz Marulanda, who is known all around the world with his professional name of Luis Diaz, is a very famous and successful football player of Columbia. He was born in Barrancas, La Guajira, Columbia, on 13 January, 1997. He was raised in Barrancas, where he used to live with his parents. He began playing football with his father at the age of six. He also took part in his father small football school.

He did very well, and he managed to impress his father. He later auditioned forAtletico Junior, where he was seleted and later he moved to their youth league. He was soon selected in the Columbia National team, which made him very famous and successful around his hometown. Diaz also has a brother, who also plays football for Porto B. Diaz is known to be of Wayuu Origin, and he became the first indigenous Columbian to play football for Columbia National team.

As far as his personal life is concerned, he is currently engaged to is long time girlfriend Gera Ponce, since July 2023. Recently, his parents were kidnapped by armed men on motorcycles. Luis Diaz began his career way back in 2014, when he was signed by Atletico Junior. He passed their test, and was later selected in the youth academy. He played with the youth team till 2016, and did an amazing job. He came into news for his exceptional deeds with them. In 2016, he was selected by Barranquilla, where he played till 2017. He appeared in 34 league games for them, and also scored 3 goals.

In 2017, he was signed by the senior team ofAtletico Junior, where he played till 2019. He made 67 appearances for them in the league, and scored 15 goals as well. In 2019, he made a sensational move to Porto, where he achieved most of his success and fame. He played with Porto till 2022, and during his time, he made 77 league appearances, scoring 26 goals. In 2022, he moved to the English Premier League giants Liverpool, where he is currently playing.
