Ernie Hudson Biography: Ernie Lee Hudso was born in Benton Harbor, Michigan, United States, on 17 December 1945. He was raised in Benton Harbor, where he spent most of his childhood with his grandmother. Hudson never knew who his father was, and his mother also died because of tuberculosis, when he was just 2 months old. Hudson also has had asthma since his childhood. He moved to Detroit after completing high school.

He also tried to join the United States Marine Corps, although, he was discharged after just three months because of his asthma. Hudson later shifted his focus to acting and became part of America’s Oldest black Theatre company. He improved his writing and acting skills and later became a well-known actor.

Hudson has married twice in his life. His first marriage came in 1963 with Jeannie Moore, which lasted till 1976. In 1985, he married again with Kingsberg. He also has four children.

Ernie Hudson started his career way back in 1973. He initially worked in several stage productions, such as The Great White Hope, and others. His debut film was named Leadbelly, in 1976. Later, he worked in plenty of movies, although his roles were of very little significance. His early movies include The Human Tornado, The Octagon, Going Berserk, Two of a Kind, etc.

In 1984, he started the Ghostbusters movie series, later working on all of its parts. He soon featured in plenty of successful movies such as Leviathan, The Handle That Rocks the Cradle, The Crow movie series, Airheads, The Basketball Diaries, Congo, and many more.

Hudson made his television debut in 1977, in the TV film named Mad Bull. He later worked in some early shows such as King, Fantasy Island, Highcliffe Manor, Flamingo Road, St. Elsewhere, The Last Precinct, Broken Badges, Wild Palms, and many more.

In 1997, he joined the HBO series Oz, where he worked till 2003. From 2003 to 2004, he worked in 10-8: Officers on Duty.
