In 1987, Robert established the Environmental Litigation Clinic at Pace University and performed with law students to manage environmental problems, including ensuring observation with the Clean Water Act. In a notable case in 2010, the clinic forced ExxonMobil to clean up millions of gallons of oil spilled from their refinery in Brooklyn.
In 2000, Kennedy co-founded the environmental law firm Kennedy and Madonna, LLP.
